GO USA! beat Argentina! go for GOLD! watching the game now live.

alright, i'm sick and tired with people criticising the Chinese-born athletes from Team Singapore that brought Silver to our nation. there is a reason why we have foreign sportspeople to play for our country. one of the reasons i can think of is to INCREASE the competition here to IMPROVE our own sportspeople.

everyone know our local talents don't perform as well as the people under the Foriegn Talent Scheme(FTS), or rather, most of them for that matter. you see, if our own sportspeople are putting sports as their career and more importantly their passion, they should take the government's initiative of the FTS as a motivation to train harder. so i don't agree with what some of the S'poreans have said, that is the FTS will only discourage these local sportspeople from doing sports. yes, these sportspeople under the FTS were not born in Singapore but they are indeed playing for Singapore, which is something that nobody forced them into. they are doing it at their own will and have decided to make Singapore their country and want to bring Singapore sports up to greater heights.

why don't we be grateful and thank them for their achievements for the country instead of blabbering about how they're not S'poreans and winning the medals are worthless.

now that i've cleared that off my chest, time for some random stuff. my father came back home today and asked me to call Subaru and ask how much our current Lancer is worth and check the price of the Impreza 1.5l hatchback. ok, i like that car but i don't want it. it looks great and all, but it's just too slow. on paper, it goes from 0-100km/h in 14.0seconds. FOURTEEN! now how pathetic is that? now, people who's been in my car knows i love accelerating but not speeding. so that's a very important factor when it comes to choosing a car for me. another thing is the comfort of the passengers. there is ample legroom for the Impreza, but really not enough to squeeze 3 grown adults comfortably at the back seats.

i'm going to psyche my dad out of buying that car and on my part, i'll make do with our 2004 Lancer GLX 1.6l. but delaying the sale of this car will only increase the depreciation value. currently, the selling price of our car is just over S$28k. we bought it for S$75k four years ago.

the commentator tried to say JIAYOU but instead he blurted out DAIYO. but still made the same translation, DAIYO means MORE OIL.

hope you're enjoying your trip there! COME BACK QUICK!
