everybody should be given a chance, including ex-convicts. that's what the Yellow Ribbon Project (YRP) is about.

many ex-convicts find it difficult to get jobs because they've been convicted of crimes before. many employers never give these ex-convicts a chance to get employed in their workplace. it's a stereotype that the ex-cons will never change and will remain the convict they were before.

well now, let me share MY point of view. people make mistakes, it's just a matter of how big those mistakes are. those employers, they are just humans, same goes to the ex-cons. tell me the employers have NEVER made a single mistake in their lives, i will then stand with them and reject every single resume submitted by the ex-cons.

there are reasons why prisoners are allowed to be released; their offense ain't so serious, they've good conduct in jail, etc.. why can't the employer just understand this, these people have done their time, and now they are out here in society, changed.

question: do they not deserve a chance?

you see, the prisoners get training and many different activities when they are serving their jail term. so why not let them try out working what they've been trained for? i say, GIVE THE EX-CONS A CHANCE! why pin them down because of the past? you've got a future to live, and so do the ex-cons.

EX-convicts means they WERE convicts in the past. if you're willing to give them a second chance, a chance to prove their worth in society, they will do it. so release them from their second prison, which is the barrier build by society. they are willing to change their lives, are you ready to help them do so by changing your perceptions?
